NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Local constitutional rights attorney Kyle Mothershead joins Levi Ismail on OpenLine to advocate for people who struggle with still being registered as a sex offender – even years after conviction.
If you live in the “Bible Belt” you have to have YOUR morality legislated for you. Ignorant!!
It did not work in the time of the Puritans and the scarlet letter, Prohibition, or abortion.
Allegedly we live in a free country, not according to the religious right, yet the government has made these same types of decisions over and over and over again and every time the same results occurred. The public kept having affairs. The public kept drinking. The public kept having abortions.
If you believe in the sanctity of marriage, terrific. If you are not a drinker, good for you. If you think abortion is murder, that is your belief. You have a right to act, think and believe every viewpoint I just put forward. That was what this country was founded to preserve and many of our friends, family members or spouses have gone fought and died to preserve those freedoms and give other people those freedoms. Most members of the military are very conservative in their ideology, which is fine so am I, but yet they continually go and vote for politicians locally, state level and federal, that want to legislate YOUR morality despite what the Constitution says and the same Constitution that these same military members took up arms to defend.
Our politicians need to stick to trying to keep this country running and providing for the common defense and welfare of this country and stay the hell out of telling us what our morality ought to be.
